The Center for Faith and Community Development (CFCD) was honored to participate in the Bellwether UN Faith for Rights Post Symposium Seminar and the unveiling of Bellwether International’s five-year strategy, held on Friday, 10th July 2026, at Seashell Suites in Abuja, Nigeria.

Founded in 2019, Bellwether International is a leading organization dedicated to disrupting the cycle of genocide. Through strategic global partnerships with entities such as the UN Office on Genocide Prevention, the UN Faith for Rights Committee, the Alliance for Peacebuilding, and various UK and international forums, Bellwether has successfully run 54 programs across 11 countries, impacting over 45,000 people. Their work sits uniquely at the crossroads of human rights, economic development, peace technology, and advocacy to drive meaningful and lasting change.

This seminar provided an invaluable platform to explore and share the commitments of the United Nations Faith for Rights framework—especially its practical application and impact within Nigeria. Working Group leaders who attended the recent Faith for Rights symposium shared their experiences, insights, and best practices on leveraging this faith-based framework to promote human rights, peacebuilding, and inclusive community development.

The event also marked the official unveiling of Bellwether's bold five-year strategy, aimed at deepening collaboration among faith actors, advancing justice, and strengthening community resilience throughout Nigeria and beyond. This strategic roadmap aligns closely with CFCD’s mission to empower communities through faith-driven initiatives.

CFCD is proud to contribute to this crucial dialogue and looks forward to partnering with Bellwether, the United Nations, and other stakeholders to further advocacy and development efforts rooted in faith and human rights. Together, these collaborations promise a hopeful future for peaceful and just societies.
